We offer a wide range of lifting attachment devices, including lifting points, eye bolts, swivel lifting points and weld-on hooks.

Lifting points provide a tested and safe connection between the lifting sling and the load. They are required whenever heavy loads need to be lifted or moved. We offer weldable lifting points with or without a spring, in various load capacities, thread sizes and grades 8 and 10.

Eye bolts are used when loads need to be transported and no lifting eyes are available. They are important load handling devices for permanent attachment to components such as engines, control cabinets, gearboxes and similar items for transport. Eye bolts owe their name to the ring-shaped head at the top. Below the ring is the thread, which is used to attach the eye bolt to the component. All SHZ eye bolts are certified according to DIN 580 and can be used within a temperature range of –20 to +200 °C without any reduction in load capacity.

Applications of Eye Bolts

Eye bolts are mainly used to permanently attach components such as gearboxes, engines and control cabinets for safe transport. If you want to attach several items to one eye bolt, the next larger thread diameter should always be selected, as this provides a higher load capacity. The optimum load capacity is achieved when the bolt has been fully screwed into the base material. Please note: the eye bolt must rest fully on the contact surface and the thread must be sufficiently deep. In addition, the eye bolt should be inspected for possible damage, such as rust and cracks, before each use. It must be firmly seated in the base material and must not be deformed. Only then is a safe connection possible.

Materials of Eye Bolts

For conventional applications, galvanised eye bolts are completely sufficient. For outdoor use or in humid environments, eye bolts made of A2 stainless steel are more suitable due to their higher corrosion resistance. If there is a possibility that the eye bolt may come into contact with acid, A4 stainless steel eye bolts should always be used.

Useful Information About Swivel Lifting Points

Swivel lifting points are screwed into the component to be lifted, just like eye bolts. The load can then be lifted safely using chain slings or webbing slings. Unlike fixed eye bolts, however, our swivel lifting points have significantly larger suspension eyes or load brackets and can rotate 360° around their own axis.

Useful Information About Weld-On Hooks

Weld-on hooks are used as suspension hooks for the simple and quick connection of the chain sling to the load handling attachment. After connection, the safety latch must always be able to close, as it prevents the lifting equipment from being unintentionally released and must therefore always be present.

Useful Information About Our Weldable Lifting Points

We offer various weldable lifting points with or without a spring in grades 8 and 10. These remain permanently connected to the load and are suitable for all common welding processes. Our grade 8 lifting points offer a safety factor of 4 in every load direction and, depending on the design, are suitable for load capacities of up to 15 tonnes. Our grade 10 lifting points are also suitable for load capacities of up to 16 tonnes, depending on the design.
