Even in Corona times, there are good economic news. Sächsische Hebe und Zurrtechnik GmbH (SHZ) is making sure of this by investing EUR 1.2 million in a new warehouse at its Großröhrsdorf site in Saxony.

On September 1st, 2020 punctually at 8 a.m., the starting shot for the construction work was given. The company, which specializes in the manufacture of lashing straps and lifting straps for moving heavy loads, is reacting to the increased demand and the continuously positive business development in recent years. In the period from 2008 to 2019, the company was able to increase its sales from 3 million to 9 million euros – and thus tripled. Every year around 7,000,000 meters of webbing are processed at SHZ. “With the new hall we are doubling our storage space. In this way we can offer our customers even better service in the future through significantly shorter production and delivery times. In addition, we also increase delivery reliability. A criterion that has become much more important for many of our customers in the Corona times. “, explains Matthias Böhme, managing director of SHZ GmbH.

In order to be able to build the new warehouse, SHZ GmbH bought a neighboring property. The employee parking spaces will now be relocated to this, so that the new, around 700 square meter warehouse – with a direct connection to production – can be built on the vacated area of the previous parking spaces. The new hall offers space for over 1,000 pallets. In this way, primary and finished materials for the production of slings, hoists and lashing straps can be stored in significantly larger quantities. This increases production and delivery reliability. Another positive effect from the new building: SHZ GmbH will be able to offer its customers significantly shorter delivery times in the future, as the materials required for production do not have to be procured from external warehouses. And the new warehouse also has many advantages for the SHZ employees. The work processes for storage and retrieval are much easier. In addition, the doubling of the storage area ensures a better overview.
