SHZ Successfully Completes Generational Transition
SHZ GmbH Remains a Family-Owned Company
With a clear strategy and international focus, the second generation is leading SHZ Sächsische Hebe- und Zurrtechnik GmbH into a new phase of corporate development. On 24 October 2025, company founder Günter Böhme (66) transferred his company shares to his children Matthias (43) and Franziska Böhme (36). The generational transition has now also been formally completed.
For employees, customers and business partners, nothing will change as a result: the siblings have already been managing the family-owned company operationally since February 2023. Since then, Matthias Böhme has been the sole Managing Director, while Franziska Böhme, as Head of Administration, has been responsible for Human Resources and Accounting and holds power of procuration. Most recently, Günter Böhme supported the company in an advisory role.
“Today’s step is essentially just a formality,” explains Günter Böhme. “The baton was passed on a long time ago – and my children have positioned SHZ GmbH securely for a successful future with a clear strategy.”
New Generation, Same Values
With the harmonious completion of the generational transition, SHZ GmbH underlines the continuity of its successful corporate development. The family-owned company remains fully owned by the founder’s family and firmly rooted at its Großröhrsdorf site in Saxony – a clear commitment to regional strength and secure jobs. With investments in production in Germany, SHZ GmbH aims to further expand its strengths: the highest quality standards, independence from supply chain problems involving the Far East, as well as short distances and stable processes. This combination reliably ensures fast delivery times and a permanently strong position in the market.
Matthias and Franziska Böhme have been an integral part of the company’s management for many years: Matthias joined SHZ GmbH in 2009 and has been a member of the management team since 2011. Franziska Böhme joined the company in 2010 and is now responsible for key administrative and HR processes. Both were specifically prepared for their leadership responsibilities over many years – and have played a significant role in shaping the company’s development in recent years.
Important Course Set for the Future
These innovations are part of a holistic strategy that combines technological development and operational excellence. Through the consistent automation and digitalisation of production processes, Matthias and Franziska Böhme are creating the conditions for greater efficiency and sustainable growth.

At the same time, we are making targeted investments in future-oriented topics – from product innovations and digitalisation to efficient and sustainable production processes – in order to further develop SHZ GmbH as an internationally competitive company.”
- In 2024 alone, the company achieved revenue growth of more than 50 percent outside the EU – the result of targeted expansion strategies and technological innovations.
- A key success factor was market entry in Chile in cooperation with the new distribution partner Andes Mining Solutions. Through this partnership, SHZ GmbH is not only opening up a high-growth market in South America, but also strengthening its position in global competition and creating the basis for further international business activities.
- At the same time, the family-owned company consistently invested in the development of new products and technological differentiation. The introduction of the Performance PRO heavy-duty round sling with HMPE core and the premium aluminium lever hoist mark significant competitive advantages in terms of performance, ergonomics and safety.
- Since 2025, SHZ has also expanded its product portfolio to include RFID transponders, which can optionally be integrated into all lashing straps and lifting equipment. In this way, the company is deliberately driving forward the digitalisation of its product world and creating new opportunities for customers in the tracking, documentation and safety inspection of load handling equipment.

With Günter Böhme’s withdrawal, an era at SHZ GmbH is coming to an end – one shaped by entrepreneurial courage, foresight and consistency. As one of the four founding members, he laid the foundation for the company in February 2002 and shaped it over more than two decades into one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of lifting and lashing technology. What once began with just 100 square metres of production space and twelve employees developed under his leadership into a modern industrial company with more than 70 employees and annual revenue of over ten million euros. Through consistent growth, investments in technology, automation and digitalisation, as well as the continuous expansion of the machinery, Günter Böhme created the basis for the strength of SHZ GmbH today.
A decisive milestone was the move to the current site on Arnsdorfer Weg in 2009 – a step that brought the company to a new stage of development in terms of both space and structure and significantly accelerated professionalisation and further growth. Today, the company supplies customers in more than 50 countries worldwide.
Other defining successes include the construction of the new warehouse in 2021 for 1.2 million euros and the modernisation of the brand identity in 2022 with a new logo, the claim “Großes bewegen. Mit Sicherheit.” and a bilingual website that makes the company’s international focus visible.
