Sustainability does not have to be complicated – often, it is enough to rethink existing processes and use resources responsibly. This is exactly what we do every day at SHZ GmbH: whether in the disposal of packaging materials or in the handling of textile production waste.
🚛 Fewer Trips, Greater Impact
In the past, film and cardboard waste was collected weekly – requiring two truck trips per week for this purpose alone.
Today, we bundle this waste into compact bales that can hold the contents of four roll containers. Only one collection per quarter is now required.
👉 This reduces our waste volume by up to 95%, cuts truck transports by around 90% and significantly lowers our CO₂ emissions.
For this commitment, we were awarded the CO₂ seal “Environmentally Friendly Waste Disposal” (wir-kaufen-Ihren-abfall.de) — a testament to the fact that we actively contribute to a resource-efficient recycling economy
🧵 Every Fibre Counts – Circular Economy in Textile Production
For us, sustainability does not stop with paper and cardboard. Our textile production waste – especially polyester remnants – is also given a second life.
These materials are collected and handed over to a certified recycling company. There, they are mechanically processed into shredded fibres, which are then used to manufacture new products or as nonwoven materials in a wide range of industries.
👉 In this way, we return valuable raw materials to the cycle and prevent them from being lost.
